It wasn’t that many years ago that the idea of a production 50-ft. Express fishing boat was little more than a gleam in some designer’s eye.  Flash forward to 2006 when the Cabo 52 Express first appeared.  A year later comes the Viking 52 Open, an equally broad-beamed sportfishing heavyweight whose luxury-class accommodations belie her fishboat pedigree.  There are many similarities between the two boats – Both feature huge Bridge Decks with Center Helm positions; Both have enormous Engine Rooms; and Both offer lavish Two-Stateroom interiors with Two Heads and luxury-class amenities.  Only the 52 Open, however, has Mezzanine seating like the Viking Convertibles.  Housing a freezer and storage boxes under, Mezzanines offer the extra seating many owners demand these days for cruising and entertaining.  Cockpit features include a large in-sole live well, refrigerated step box, transom fish box and a beefy transom door with gate.  The 52’s meticulously detailed Engine Room is simply a work of art.  Built on a Modified-V Hull with cored hullsides and a solid glass bottom, MAN 1360 V-12 diesels cabable of cruise speeds in low to mid 30’s.
