We are delighted to announce that Van der Valk’s fully-custom, all-aluminum tri-deck explorer Lady Lene is a nominee in the World Superyacht Awards 2022 category for Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts (30-34.9m).
Ordered for a repeat Van der Valk client, once again represented by YachtCreators, and loaded with highly specific requests, Lady Lene combines the expertise of four leading players from the Dutch superyacht sector for her design, naval architecture and technical construction. Her naval architecture is a collaborative effort between the dynamic duo Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design, and with exteriors by Guido de Groot Design.
With her sophisticated and calming Art Deco-inspired interiors designed by the talented Carla Guilhem, standout areas onboard Lady Lene include her large, airy salon and dining area on the main deck, as well as her aft entertainment area complete with numerous relaxation and dining spaces. Also notable is the generous swim platform and bar, providing the ideal chill-out space for extended sea cruises.
Performance-wise, Lady Lene features a Fast Displacement hull, a wave-piercing bow and a Hull Vane transom wing to ensure both exceptional performance and significant fuel savings. The top speed of 18 knots and cruising speed of 14 knots are courtesy of her twin MAN 1650hp diesel engines. In addition, the superior stabilization of her gyro system at zero speed is combined with a fin system, perfect for weathering even the choppiest of waters in total comfort.
